It is hard to believe it has
been over three years since the devastating destruction of the South Central
Farm. While the 14 acres, once considered the largest urban farm in the country,
still sits undeveloped, the South Central Farmers continue to move forward with
their commitment to gain the land back for the community, as well as, provide
quality organic produce to all communities
During these tough economic
times, the importance of making organic produce accessible to all people, while
at the same time supporting our local small farmers is vital. It is a
challenging task and the road ahead is a long one. However, we are grateful to
be a part of this journey for change, and invite you to join us.
Check out some of the highlights
from this past year:

work with several community partners:

W.O.R.K.S Festival of Earth Cultures in the Highland Park neighborhood of
Los Angeles. www.worksusa.org
* Worked with local
Promotoras (health educators) to distribute produce in South Central Los
Angeles.
* Joined with
Proyecto Jardin and their Seeds of Tomorrow Project, in the Boyle Heights
neighborhood of Los Angeles, to begin envisioning new ways of making organic
produce accessible to all people as well as host a CSA drop off location at the
community garden.
To ensure continuity of the
already existing programs, as well as, move forward in our work towards
environmental sustainability and a better quality of life for our communities,
we ask you to think about how you can support this ongoing work.
Also, consider partnering with
the South Central Farmers’ Cooperative in the following ways:
