Villaraigosa puts a call to LA citizens to Save the South Central Farm! Tonight Feb. 8, 2006, Mayor Villaraigosa demonstrated leadership by calling out to the citezenery to step-up to the plate and help save the farm at 41st and Alameda.
{mosmedia} "If you are sending emails, send some money so we can buy this land for the farmers." -- Antonio Villaraigosa
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa responded to some questions from viewers of his weekly TV show on KCAL, Channel 9, last night (Feb 8,2006) by saying that there was an orchestrated email and letter writing campaign to get him to save the South Central Farm. He said that instead of just writing people should send money because the developer Horowitz wants $16 million for the parcel he (developer) only paid $5 million for about three years ago. The Mayor said the City does not have that kind of money. In response to his request, friends of the South Central Farmers are launching a 'Mail a Dollar to the Mayor' campaign. Send him a dollar, 1 peso, yuan - whatever you can spare. Mention you heard his appeal on Wed, Feb 8 on Channel Nine. Spread the word. Please ask for a receipt of your donation and specify that it can only be used for the land acquisition for the farmers located on 41st and Alameda Ave.
Address the donations to:
