Subscription Information

WHAT: ~ One-Time Subscription of Certified Organic Produce (not a re-occuring payment)

              ~ Enough to feed a family of four for a week or a single/couple for two weeks (Approximate)

COST: Sliding scale. All boxes are the same size. Monthly subscription: $20, $25, $40. We encourage subscribers to purchase at the highest level then can afford to help us sustain the farm.

Payment Options:
$40 a box per week = Buy a box for yourself and support a community member in need.  (Half of this purchasing price is tax-deductible, as it will go into our SCF Health and Education Fund, 501c3)

$25 a box per week

$20 box per week

Ordering deadlines:

   ~ Tuesday through Thursday drop offs must make their order by 5pm on Mondays.

   ~ Saturday drop offs must make their order by 5pm on Thursdays.

   ~ Sunday drop offs must make their order by 5pm on Fridays.

HOW TO SUBSCRIBE: Choose a box option (one-time (weekly), monthly or season). Choose a Pick up Location (please note those that must be paid by paypal). Choose a payment option ($20, $25, $40). Enter billing information, shipping information (we will not ship, just a formality), and payment chose (cash, check or paypal).

    Good. Better than wholefoods. Tastes better and it isn't any of that gmo-crud. Reminds me of the food I used to grow myself.

    I am very impressed with South Central Farm CSA distributors. They were very understanding when our site experienced low member numbers, and have continued to serve us fresh produce while our site grows.

    I love the variety while still getting a little bit of dirt on my veggies. The produce is always ultra fresh.

    I stand by this farm with pride.

    I have served many fabulous meals from my weekly box. Everyone so far has come back for more. I love knowing that my veggies are grown, picked and delivered with the care of a farmer.
    I say that as the daughter of a farmer.

    I adore this CSA. The produce is always seasonal, so the variety is different every month. I appreciate that there is often dirt still on them, as if they have just been picked. I also love that South Central provides recipes and preparation ideas on the website to correlate with what you're getting that week. Whether you're buying the box, which is a huge bargain, or individual items at their farmers' market stand, you are getting the best local organic produce you can get. I am obsessed with their tatsoi, when they have it! Their greens of all kinds are amongst the best I've ever tasted.

  5. variable quality, weird pick up locations

    I only ordered once and was surprised by the lack of variety and also some of the vegetables seemed old. I am also surprised that for most pick up locations you only accept pay pal, any eco aware person knows that this company sucks. Also, what is the point of going to the farmers market to pick up vegetables? So you can see all the other veggies you might be missing on? I am sorry to say, but your marketing strategy is a bit out of touch.

    Last night our Santa Monica CSA drop off hostess, Patsy, made the most incredible spaghetti squash dinner! I am waiting for the recipe and then will share. Would have made any elegant restaurant menu proud. The watermelon this past week was the best I have ever tasted, too!

    I am a happy camper. The price for what is delivered is honorable. I understand a work in progress. I have been receiving the boxes for a few years. I have learned about new veggies and become a more sustainable consumer. It isn't just about my health, it is about the community, at home and elsewhere. Affordable, organic produce for everyone.

    The food quality is usually great (though the tomatoes and watermelon have not been at the level of the other produce, at least in the boxes that we've gotten).

    But I can't take any more squash! We're going to stop ordering until there's more of a variety of foods again.

    We're glad we did this and enjoyed our first box but hope there might be more variety in the next. Squash is wonderful but we'd love to see some more string beans, carrots, maybe some corn or an artichoke or two? I know these things all flourish here.
