CSA Delivery Spring Break Schedules

Paused CSA Pick Up Locations:
-- Beverly Hills Farmers' Market will be closed next Sunday, March 31st for Easter. It will be open this Sunday, March 24th, so make sure to get your veggies this weekend!

-- USC pick up will resume this coming Wednesday, March 27th.

-- The UCLA CHS and Kerckhoff pick up locations will be paused next Wednesday, March 27th for Spring Break. Delivery will resume the following Wednesday, April 3rd.

SCF CSA Transition Update -- We are getting a makeover!

~ The SCFCSA Mini-Box: After much feedback, we are adding a "mini-box" in addition to the CSA Full box as one of your order options. We recoginize for many of you the full box has a few too many veggies for you to be able to eat within a week. The mini-box will be a little more than half the size of the full box with a mix of vegetables and fruit.

~ Sign up for a longer subscription and save money!: At a recent Small Farm conference one presenter shared that habits form over the course of three months and it usually takes that time for us humans to develop a sucessful habit of cook with new foods. What does that mean...you are more likely to grow into using all the veggies in your CSA box if you work at developing the habit over three months. We get a lot of feedback with one time subscribers that there are too many vegetables to cook or know how to cook. This year we are going to challenge and encourage our subscribers to attempt to making a long term lifestyle shift by developing the veggie cooking habit (not a bad habit to have, right?)!

We want to give you a few incentives to committing to the veggie box for a longer period of time. Check out your options...(The info is for the Full Size Box only at this time, but we will have similar options for the mini once we determine its pricing.)

One-Time Box
$20 (we want to make this affordable) or $25 (true cost of the veggie box)

Monthly Subscription (4 weeks)
$75 (savings of $5)

3-Month Subscription (12 weeks)
$225 (savings of $15)

Half-Year Subscription (26 weeks)
$487 (savings of $33)

~ Signing up Schools, Businesses and Community Orgs: Do you want to use the CSA box program at your child's school as a fundraiser? Does your business need a little healthy and green lifestyle boost? Let us know and we can set something up at your place this fall. Our CSA box program can also include classes or workshops on healthy eating, growing your own herbs, using your CSA box and more.

Low Cost CSA Box Option

As many of you have read we increased the base CSA box price to $20 (Visit our website for more details: www.scfcoop.southcentralfarmers.com). This is to reflect rising production costs. We do recognize that this price change can be cost prohibitive for some and are offering a Low Cost CSA Box Option for students and persons/families who qualify for some form of income assistance (such as SNAP, EBT, WIC, unemployment, etc).
